I need to stop being so bloody afraid of drawing people in my artwork. The fear is that if I do not use reference I will resort to my anime roots and that is untrue. I am much to big a fan of lips and noses to go too far down that road in an art class. Even so it is clear that this is the area I need to push myself in. Right now anything else feels like avoidance. Sooo with that in mind I plan on doing a face for my litho class. I feel much better now that I have some decent sketches to work from. I used to keep such an awesome sketchbook in IB. What happened? Oh yea that one was graded.
This semester is really going to take it out of me. I love all my classes and teachers which is a first, but there is not enough time for me during the day. I am sure I look like a zombie too. At least I will once this semester really starts rolling.
If you are at all interested in the dragony fiction genre I highly recommend “His Majesty’s Dragon” by Naomi Novik. I know that dragon fantasy is a fairly stigmatized and overdone area. Regardless I could not put this down and I don’t have a lot of spare time either. mmm I want to read the sequel RIGHT NOW! I supposed I will have to live without instant gratification.
